Samphire has vibrant green stalks, similar to baby asparagus, with a distinctively crisp and salty taste. It's an obvious pairing for fish and shellfish, however it's versatile taste pairs deliciously with meat. Favoured by chefs for its salty yet fresh flavour, it adds crunchiness to dishes, especially seafood dishes & pasta. It can be eaten raw but we recommend blanching or steaming.
Samphire will keep happily in the fridge for a week or more, but keep it covered with a damp cloth to stop it wilting.
