Deliciously sweet fresh white Devon crab claw meat, perfect for adding to salads, sauces and more. The fresh crabs are steamed, rather than boiled to ensure a maximum flavour profile and carefully picked from the claws to achieve a premium quality white crab meat that is beautifully chunky and perfect for all crab dishes.
The crabs are sustainably caught in the Channel and North Sea using pots that are laid on the sea bed in strings. Pots are a selective and passive form of fishing causing no damage to the marine environment. Most importantly, the crab is alive when bought to the surface. This means if the crab is undersize or has recently shed its shell, it will be returned to the sea allowing it to grow and breed again.
Eating crab is a great source of vitamins and minerals such as zinc and copper which can help to boost the immune system. Additionally, the Omega3 fatty acids found in shellfish (such as crab) have been found to lower blood pressure.
- 100g per Pot
- Store in your fridge and consume within 3 days (the fresher the better!) or freeze on delivery to consume at your convenience
- Rich in Omega-3, vitamins & minerals
Whilst every effort has been made to carefully remove the shell, the pickers are not infallible. Occasionally a small piece of shell may be left in the pot with the meat. The daily fish market closes very early, so when ordering for 'next day' delivery, if fresh crab is unavailable, we will use (previously) frozen crab.
At The Wright Brothers Ltd, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality seafood while prioritising sustainability and environmental responsibility. We closely monitor the guidelines to ensure that our sourcing practices are as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible.
Whenever available, we prioritise sourcing our fish from day boats, supporting local fishermen who use low-impact fishing methods. This approach not only guarantees the freshest catch but also minimises our environmental footprint.
We also recognise seasonal and regional catch opportunities and often for lesser-known species, that although not always viable for the larger boats, represent an important part of local fishing community sustainability for the smaller vessels.
We are committed to continuously reviewing and improving our sourcing practices to protect our oceans and ensure a sustainable future for seafood. Thank you for supporting our mission to make responsible choices.
