Dressed to impress and ready to enjoy! All our crab meat is sourced from sustainably pot-caught British crab, carefully picked and prepared in Devon. The crabs are steamed, rather than boiled to ensure a maximum flavour profile. The white crab meat is taken from the legs and the claws and has a sweet, delicate taste. The brown crab meat has a more distinctive, umami flavour.
Not only is dressed crab delicious, but rich in minerals such as zinc, selenium and copper which help boost the immune system. Also, the Omega3 fatty acids found in shellfish (such as crab) have been found to lower blood pressure.
- Shell sizes vary slightly, but you will receive approximately 100g brown meat and 70g of white meat in every pack.
- Shellfish products have a limited shelf life, please consume our dressed crab within 3 days of delivery (the fresher the better!).
While every effort has been made to carefully remove the shell, our pickers are not infallible. Occasionally a small piece of shell may be left in the shell with the meat. The daily fish market closes very early, so when ordering for 'next day' delivery, if fresh crab is unavailable, we will use (previously) frozen crab.

We also recognise seasonal and regional catch opportunities and often for lesser-known species, that although not always viable for the larger boats, represent an important part of local fishing community sustainability for the smaller vessels.
