Its waxy feel and oily surface come from the natural fat of the fish giving it a creamy texture that will melt in your mouth making it succulent with every bite while leaving you with a lingering but not overbearing flavour.
Without taking away its lovely flavour and texture, enjoy the smoked salmon on some lightly toasted bread and a squeeze of citrus or as a canapé with a touch of cream cheese topped with a sprinkle of dill.
