Expertise
Introducing Mike Warner, our British Seafood & Fisheries Ambassador at Wright Brothers. With an incredible passion for fishing industry, Mike is not only a leading authority on British seafood but has also made significant contributions to the community.
Having spent extensive hours at sea and in ports, within various sectors, he has a detailed working knowledge of the UK fishing industry. Beyond his role with us, Mike is a patron of the National Lobster Hatchery, an Ambassador for Love British Food, and a consultant to the Shellfish Association of Great Britain.

His story
His journey began in his childhood when his father instilled in him his deep love for the sea and all its bounty. Mike spent countless hours studying and marvelling at the life of our inshore seas and learning the practices of inshore fishermen. These early experiences shaped his lifelong commitment to the marine world and ignited his passion for sustainable fishing practices.
Mike has also written countless articles about seafood which connect consumer to producer, and via his blog, ‘A Passion for Seafood,’ which was shortlisted twice in the Guild of Food Writer Awards.

His impact
Despite the challenges faced by the fishing industry, Mike remains optimistic about the abundance of our waters. He believes in the importance of fishing sustainably and responsibly while honouring the traditions passed down by previous generations. As a fundamental part of our business, Mike will play a crucial role in telling our story from net to plate and ensuring traceability throughout our operations across three divisions: Wholesale, Wright Brothers At Home and restaurants.

A Land of Wine Wonder
At Wright Brothers, we constantly seek new flavours and experiences to delight our guests. Recently, a group of our team members embarked on an extraordinary journey to the sun-kissed region of Puglia, Italy. Our destination: the renowned vineyards of San Marzano. Organised by our esteemed wine suppliers, Hallgarten Novum, and hosted by Angelo Cotugno, export manager for San Marzano wine cooperative, this trip promised an exploration of the region's wines and the warm hospitality it is renowned for.
Nestled in the southern part of Italy, Puglia, also known as Apulia, is a captivating region that holds a special place in the wine world. With its warm climate and proximity to the sea, Puglia boasts a unique terroir that has nurtured vineyards for centuries. This land, steeped in history and tradition, offers a plethora of flavours waiting to be discovered.
