International Women's Day

International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we highlight Australian designer Elise Joseph and her oyster serving plates. Crafted from high-fire stoneware, each plate blends artistry and function, making them a perfect gift for oyster lovers.

MEET THE ARTIST

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we’d like to shine a spotlight on Elise Joseph, the talented artist behind our beautiful oyster plates. Australian designer Elise Joseph holds a degree in Industrial Design with Honours from RMIT University in Melbourne and spent an exchange semester at TU Delft in the Netherlands.

Her work blends casting, hand sculpting, and 3D computer modelling to create intricate porcelain forms, exploring the intersection of ceramics and technology to produce unique textures and shapes.

While studying Industrial Design and working as a waitress, Elise developed both creative skills and a deep understanding of the hospitality sector. She thrives on collaborative projects, working closely with chefs and restaurants to create bespoke, functional, and exciting designs.

Previously, her pieces were cast and hand-finished, glazed, and fired at her studio in North Fitzroy. Now based in London, Elise collaborates with a studio in Portugal to produce her pieces, which are available for purchase online.
